I did something unexpected last night, when I joined here. I'd been talking with people about joining, and months ago was trying to find a character I could cover. My two that I'd gravitate to - Philip and Ahim - were taken, but I found out that there was nobody covering Kiva yet (I found out tonight that's not 100% true, but I got lucky with character choice), so I was invited to take Wataru. He started talking to me as soon as I started to consider the prospects... but then I was doing other things, and I couldn't hear him for a while.
Last night, he started talking to me again... well, maybe it was more like this morning. But last night I was bored, so I opened this account to try to get me to start writing again. I missed it... a lot... and I figured the best way to get back into it might be to jump in with both feet. Took miss Gale quite by surprise ^_^.
I'm really very new at this, and this evening proved how new I truly am, when I discovered I needed to specify clearly where my Wataru falls on the Kiva timeline. I'm struggling a little bit with some of the existing threads, since they deal with events that played out before I got here, and with characters I'm unfamiliar with (the only sentai I've watched so far are Gokaiger and GoBusters). But I posted to a couple introduction threads... and then this morning Wataru started whispering in my ear. Even if he doesn't play up his powers too heavily, he still has his violin.
So that's where I started - a concert, in a hall, with an orchestra. Solo performance. Shy and nervous to a fault (since my Wataru is at a point before he learned the truth about his heritage), but getting up on stage because the conductor specifically invited him.
I opened it up to everyone... and I got another Kiva character by way of Taiga. I'm actually really worried that nobody else is gonna join in... I was so proud of that beginning, I thought I had left it wide open. In my reply to Taiga's post, I tried to push it back into the crowd, to attract other players... but I might have to take it to a bar/ after party type thing in order to really open it up.
Meanwhile, I'd love to be writing actual fic... maybe W, maybe going back to my "dumping Conan into W", if I'm lucky. I have a ficlet that was this close to hearing Philip, and then I got distracted by other things, and it ended before he had a chance to open his mouth. *sigh* I'm no good at making up mysteries, though... I do better with the in-between stuff, the character interactions. I guess that's why my other long stories failed -_-;;;. Maybe I need to think up keywords for a lookup, and that'll build the rest of the story?
I should be knitting... and studying my Torah reading for this weekend >_>
